For those of you that don’t know Janita, she is a young bowler from Cape Town who has already won the Western Province Bowls Association’s Masters Singles title and is a fixture in their ladies inter-provincial A side. We asked her a few questions to get to know her better…
Q1: So why the switch to Aero Bowls?
I’m very excited to be Joining Team Aero. I’ve been playing with my Vector vs for the past 10years, but it’s time for a change. I have only heard positive things about Aero Bowls so I’m really looking forward to a fresh start with these great, modern bowls.
Q2: What is your greatest achievement so far?
I have two that I am very proud of: I have won the Junior SA Masters; and I have also won the WP Open Masters last year.
Q3: What do you want to achieve in this sport?
I really want to get my South African colours and represent my country internationally.
Q4: How long have you been playing bowls?
I started when I was 11, messing around actually, so this is my 13th year.
Q5: Who is your biggest influence in the game?
My biggest Influence would be my parents, boyfriend & family; they all believe in me and push me to do well. They will be at every game supporting me and have never doubted me.
Q6: What’s your idea of a good night out?
I’m pretty easy really; I just like being with family and friends and doing anything fun.
Q7: What’s your favourite food?
That would have to be lasagne!

The three people in the world that I would invite for dinner (or would have invited for dinner) are: Hansie Cronje, Nelson Mandela and my boyfriend.
Q9: What’s your favourite movie?
That could only be A Walk To Remember 🙂
